A refreshed look with the Brow Lift

Eyebrow lift

Drooping eyebrows can create a tired or grumpy appearance. An eyebrow lift can correct the position of the brow while also reducing excess skin on the upper eyelid. Even a subtle lift can give you a refreshed, alert expression and make you look noticeably younger and more vibrant.

The eyebrow lift at LIVION in Hamburg

At LIVION, an eyebrow lift can be performed using endoscopic surgical techniques. This minimally invasive procedure, also known as the “keyhole” technique, offers several significant advantages. The surgical approach minimizes the size of the incisions and therefore the resulting scars. While traditional methods often require a long incision along the hairline or from ear to ear, today only small incisions are needed.

Depending on your individual case, a combined procedure may also be performed, such as a forehead and midface lift, correction of the eye axis (also called Cat-Eye or Bella-Eyes), or an upper eyelid lift. This allows the entire upper facial area to be visually refreshed.

The choice of surgical method is always made together with our doctors. We place particular emphasis on achieving natural-looking results that optimally enhance your individual facial features. Depending on your specific anatomy, we may lift the eyebrows overall, adjust the arch, or slightly raise the outer end of the eyebrows.

At our Hamburg practice, we take the time to provide a thorough, personalized consultation. Our goal is to support you throughout the entire process - from initial consultation to post-operative care.

How does an endoscopic eyebrow lift work?

Minimally invasive procedure for beautifully shaped eyebrows

Using the so-called “keyhole technique,” the eyebrow lift can be performed through two small incisions per side (approximately 1.5 cm) in the hair-bearing area. This procedure is also suitable for patients who have previously undergone hair transplantation. The eyebrow is first measured, and the incision lines are marked.

The endoscope is a small, rod-shaped instrument that is inserted into the area to be corrected. A mini-camera at the tip allows the surgeon to follow the procedure on a screen. The skin layers are carefully separated, and the underlying tissue is lifted and tightened with sutures. If excess skin occurs during the procedure, it is gently removed at the same time. The skin is then fixed to the deeper tissue layers, the incisions are closed, and a protective dressing is applied.

This technique effectively lifts the sagging facial area and smooths wrinkles. Because the scars are located within the hair, they remain invisible. The procedure takes approximately 1.5 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. For small to moderate cases, the procedure can also be performed without an endoscope under local anesthesia with sedation. Whether the surgery is performed on an outpatient basis or includes a one-day hospital stay depends, among other factors, on the type of anesthesia chosen. We are happy to advise you in making this decision.

Unlike traditional thread lifts, the endoscopic eyebrow lift offers long-lasting results. However, the natural aging process cannot be stopped by any eyebrow lift procedure.

What you need to bear in mind after the procedure

Aftercare for an eyebrow lift with surgery

Even though this is a relatively minor procedure, you should arrange for someone to pick you up after the treatment. Swelling may occur in the first few days, but this can be minimised by regular cooling. Prescriptions for the necessary medication and behavioural measures for the period after the operation will be provided in advance with your treatment folder. It is also helpful to sleep with your upper body elevated for a few nights. In any case, you should allow yourself some rest after the procedure and avoid physical exertion to ensure optimal wound healing. After 1–2 weeks, you will be able to resume your normal social activities. However, we recommend that you refrain from sports completely for 4–6 weeks. The final result will be achieved after 3–6 months. The following follow-up examinations are very important. During these examinations, we will give you useful tips, document the individual healing phases and results, and discuss them with you in detail.

FAQ

The most frequently asked questions about brow lift

A brow lift is a surgical procedure in which sagging eyebrows are lifted. This makes the eyes appear more open, refreshed, and alert. At the same time, slight excess skin on the upper eyelid can be reduced, resulting in a visibly younger appearance.

At LIVION, the minimally invasive “keyhole” technique is often used. Through small incisions in the hair-bearing area, the eyebrow is precisely lifted and secured using an endoscope. This results in barely visible scars, and the procedure can also be combined with other treatments such as an upper eyelid lift or a forehead lift.

The procedure is suitable for individuals whose eyebrows have sagged, resulting in a tired, tense, or older-looking facial expression. A brow lift can achieve very good results, especially in cases of genetically low or drooping eyebrows or age-related skin loss.

An endoscopic brow lift takes approximately 1.5 hours and is usually performed under general anesthesia. For smaller cases, the procedure can also be done under local anesthesia with sedation. Whether the surgery is performed on an outpatient or inpatient basis depends on the individual case. We provide personalized advice on this.

After the procedure, swelling may occur, which can be reduced by cooling and sleeping with the head elevated. In general, you will be socially presentable again after one to two weeks. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for four to six weeks. The final result becomes visible after three to six months.
