As we get older, many of us desire a fresher or younger appearance. However, not everyone wants to go under the knife. For example, the fear of complications during surgery is a major deterrent, especially since scars or unnatural results are particularly problematic on the face.
Just because you're not open to surgery doesn't mean you have to continue being unhappy with your appearance in the mirror each morning. Minimally invasive methods offer a gentler and more flexible way to rejuvenate your face.
In this article we show how facial rejuvenation without surgery works, what can be treated and which methods LIVION offers.
Why do so many people want facial rejuvenation without surgery?
Previously, facial tightening and smoothing were the main focus. Almost everyone still has images of celebrities who had undergone surgery to achieve a completely wrinkle-free appearance, often resulting in very unnatural-looking results. These days, expectations regarding facial rejuvenation have changed, and many of our patients desire natural, harmonious results. It's about a fresh, rested look without drastically altering the face.
Minimally invasive procedures offer many advantages, such as no anesthesia risks, no downtime from work, and no noticeable scars. Many treatments can even be performed during work breaks, allowing you to resume your normal activities immediately. Furthermore, modern techniques can be applied very precisely. Individual areas like the forehead, the eye area, or the corners of the mouth can be treated without altering the entire face. Additionally, with hyaluronic acid and Botox injections, for example, it's possible to start with low doses and intensify the treatment later if desired.
What exactly makes our face look old?
Facial aging is a complex interplay of many small processes, which is why it's sometimes not so easy to pinpoint exactly what makes us look older. The natural breakdown of collagen and hyaluronic acid begins as early as our mid-twenties. The skin becomes thinner, loses elasticity, and starts to sag slightly. At the same time, the distribution of subcutaneous fat changes, and the muscles weaken over the years. Bone density also decreases slightly.
The result is a changed overall impression. Softer contours often make us look more tired and less vibrant. Typical signs of aging include crow's feet, nasolabial folds, loss of cheek volume, dark circles under the eyes, a sagging jawline, and sunken temples. Skin texture also becomes rougher in many people, and pigmentation changes occur more frequently.
What non-surgical rejuvenation methods does LIVION offer, among others?
At LIVION, we focus on a selection of particularly effective and proven procedures that require no scalpel but still achieve clearly visible results. Based on your skin condition and desired outcome, we will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. We exclusively use methods that have proven successful in modern aesthetic medicine and are performed with high precision and safety.
Botulinum toxin
Botulinum toxin is one of the best-known treatments for expression lines, meaning wrinkles caused by muscle movements, such as forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and crow's feet. By injecting the toxin directly into the affected muscles, the muscles relax for several months. This makes the overlying skin appear smoother. Our precise injection technique ensures that facial expressions remain frozen, preventing unwanted side effects such as raised eyebrows. This allows you to look younger while preserving your expressiveness.
Hyaluron
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of our connective tissue. It binds water and gives the skin elasticity. However, the body's own production decreases with age. By injecting hyaluronic acid in a targeted manner, volume loss can be compensated for, contours sculpted, and wrinkles smoothed.
Typical areas of application for hyaluronic acid include the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, the lip area, and sunken cheeks. Hyaluronic acid can also be used to improve facial symmetry or to achieve a softer overall appearance.
Skin booster
These are particularly low-concentration hyaluronic acid preparations that are injected over a large area into the middle layers of the skin. They are not used for wrinkle injections in the traditional sense, but rather to improve overall skin quality. The goal is a more even complexion with increased moisture and elasticity. The skin appears fresher, but facial features are not altered. This method is particularly well-suited for general revitalization.
Radiofrequency needling
At the Radiofrequency needling (Morpheus8™) combines the benefits of classic microneedling with targeted radiofrequency energy. While the fine needles create microchannels in the skin, they simultaneously deliver heat to the deeper skin layers. This gentle heat intensely stimulates collagen and elastin production, resulting in firmer, denser skin. The treatment is particularly suitable for sagging skin, fine lines, scars, and enlarged pores. The result is visibly rejuvenated, smoother skin with a long-lasting firming effect – all without surgery.
Facelift without surgery
As we age, our skin succumbs to gravity. But there are ways to combat this! At LIVION, we offer treatments such as thread lifting and radiofrequency microneedling to tighten sagging facial areas and stimulate collagen production in the long term. Together, we'll find the perfect combination of treatments for lasting and natural-looking results.
Is facial rejuvenation without surgery permanent?
Minimally invasive procedures have the advantage of gently slowing down the natural aging process. The effect is generally not permanent, but with regular maintenance treatments, a stable condition can be maintained in the long term.
The different treatments vary in their duration of effect: Botulinum toxin lasts approximately three to six months, depending on your facial expressions and metabolic state. Hyaluronic acid usually lasts six to twelve months, but can have a longer effect if injected deeper into the skin. Morpheus8™ and PRP only take effect in the weeks following treatment and can be repeated every six to twelve months, depending on the condition of the skin.
We achieve the best results with people who also care for their skin between treatments, use good UV protection and generally pay attention to healthy lifestyle habits.
Can non-surgical facial rejuvenation deliver results as good as surgical rejuvenation? Which method is suitable for whom?
For moderate skin laxity, first wrinkles, or loss of elasticity, non-surgical methods achieve excellent results. Especially between the ages of 30 and 55, many typical signs of aging can be addressed or even prevented with these methods. In cases of severe skin sagging, deep wrinkles, or significant volume loss, surgery may be superior to minimally invasive methods. However, even in these cases, non-invasive procedures can be used as a complementary approach, for example, for hydration or to improve skin quality.
