Wie sinnvoll ist ein Liquid Facelift?

How effective is a liquid facelift?

More and more people are opting for gentler procedures that deliver natural-looking results and integrate seamlessly into their daily lives, rather than undergoing a major facelift. A liquid facelift can be a solution in this case. More precisely, a liquid facelift consists of several individual procedures that target specific areas of the face.

At LIVION, we offer you all the necessary components and work with you to create a treatment concept individually tailored to your skin type and your wishes.

What is a liquid facelift?

A liquid facelift is not a surgical procedure, but rather a combination of minimally invasive treatments designed to visually rejuvenate the face without altering natural facial expressions. However, the term "liquid facelift" is not legally protected, meaning that very different approaches can be used depending on the provider. Hyaluronic acid fillers are most commonly used to specifically address volume loss in the face, for example, in the cheek area or along the jawline. Botulinum toxin can also be used to smooth expression lines, such as those on the forehead or around the eyes.

The goal is to gently lift facial features and soften typical signs of aging without the need for surgery or anesthesia. The injections are administered precisely where the face has lost elasticity due to volume loss or skin laxity. This creates a natural-looking lifting effect that focuses not on tightening, but on restoring shape.

In which cases is a liquid facelift advisable and for whom is the method suitable?

Not every wrinkle requires treatment, and it's always important to carefully weigh the balance between a more natural look and a completely wrinkle-free appearance. However, if you no longer identify with your facial expression, for example, because you constantly look tired, you can benefit from a gentle procedure. A liquid facelift is particularly well-suited if you're showing the first signs of aging but don't yet have deep wrinkles or sagging skin that would necessitate a comprehensive lift. A liquid facelift could be a solution for you if you experience the following symptoms:

  • Loss of elasticity in the mid-face, for example in the cheeks or under the eyes
  • Sunken or uneven contours in the chin and lower jaw area
  • Deepening nasolabial folds or marionette folds
  • Unbalanced proportions, for example due to volume shifts
  • A desire for freshness without changing facial expressions

This procedure is suitable for patients between 30 and approximately 60 years of age whose skin still has sufficient elasticity to respond to treatment with fillers or botulinum toxin. Especially for those who are employed, the short treatment time and rapid recovery are particular advantages of the liquid facelift.

What are the differences between a classic facelift and a liquid facelift?

To better understand the differences between the two approaches, a direct comparison is helpful:

Classic facelift Liquid Facelift
method Surgical procedure involving skin incision Injection of fillers and/or botulinum toxin
Treatment goal Tightening and repositioning of tissue Volume restoration and gentle smoothing
Duration of the procedure 2–3 hours under general anesthesia approximately 30–60 minutes, outpatient
Downtime approximately 2 weeks 0–2 days
durability approximately up to 10 years approximately 6–12 months (depending on the product)
Risk and side effects Surgical risks, scarring possible Swelling, bruising, rarely nodules
Cost several thousand euros Depending on the region and quantity, from approximately 400 euros.
Result clearly, but somewhat less naturally natural effect, gradually visible

Both methods are therefore valid. Which approach is right for you depends on your initial condition, the desired outcome, and your personal attitude towards surgery.

What are the advantages of a liquid facelift?

One of the biggest advantages is obvious: there are no incisions, no scars, and no anesthesia, which significantly reduces the risk of side effects. The treatment can be adjusted or expanded at any time – depending on how your face changes. The psychological effect shouldn't be underestimated either. Many patients feel more comfortable with the idea of gradually optimizing their appearance rather than radically altering it.

A liquid facelift works best when all procedures are individually tailored to the face. Therefore, we don't follow a one-size-fits-all approach, but rather plan each treatment individually to determine which is right for you. The goal is to preserve your personal contours while making your face appear fresher, clearer, and more harmonious.

Individual treatments with hyaluronic acid or botulinum toxin can be combined very effectively. While the longevity of the preparations differs, the effects can be maintained permanently with regular touch-ups.

Can a liquid facelift have side effects? When can one resume normal social activities?

As with any medical procedure, minimally invasive treatments can, in rare cases, lead to unwanted side effects. For example, slight redness, swelling, or small bruises may appear at the injection site after the injection. These usually subside completely within a few hours to a few days. In rare cases, temporary irregularities, small nodules, or tenderness may occur. In these cases, a follow-up procedure is possible.

Normal social activities are usually restored after just a few hours. However, it is advisable to avoid sports, saunas, and strong sun exposure on the day of treatment to prevent further skin irritation.

At LIVION, all treatments are performed exclusively by experienced plastic and aesthetic surgeons or dermatologists. This minimizes risk and ensures that the products used are precisely tailored to your skin type, age, and goals.
